A Father's Love - The Bridge

The Father’s Love

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”

The story of the bridge portrays the love of God for us. We watched this during our morning devotion in the youth retreat camp. It moved us so hard that we all began to cry. I myself couldn’t stop crying even until breakfast.

The film strip shows a very realistic view of what the world really is about. It makes us ask ourselves “what have we done in our lives so far?” Many of us are like the passengers on the train: the lonely, the angry, the selfish, the hurting, and the addicted. We are usually living our lives without caring, often ignorant of how big the sacrifice of God is to save us by letting Jesus die for our sins.

Most of the time we see and hear this story in the perspective of Jesus; this time we see it in the perspective of the Father. “The salvation of all required the sacrifice of the one so dear.” The pain of the Father in having to decide to sacrifice his precious and beloved Son, for the salvation of a people undeserving who do not even recognize that they have been saved or do not even share the love of God for them.

The question remains for us, will we be ignorant passengers who do not give a damn, or will we be transformed and thankful for the gift of salvation through Christ.

What is your Christian way of life?

  1. it was the missing piece of my puzzle. where i realized how selfish and arrogant i once was when God asked me to be His servant. where i was thinking the things i gave up in replace to taking up his ministry. i cried because i was ashamed of myself and after i felt so privileged and grateful God loved me for what He did for us and of how he loved me so much .... i will always cherish the moment i saw this movie.
